One-piece dovetail veneer tie and wall anchoring system with in-cavity thermal breaks
A dovetail anchoring system for cavity walls is disclosed and includes a sheetmetal dovetail anchor and one-piece sheetmetal dovetail veneer tie. The anchoring system is used in conjunction with building structures that have a masonry outer wythe anchored to a poured masonry inner wythe. A thermally-isolating coating is optionally applied to the high-strength veneer tie, which is interconnected with the wall anchor. The thermally-isolating coating is selected from a distinct grouping of materials, that are applied using a specific variety of methods, in one or more layers and cured and cross-linked to provide high-strength adhesion. The thermally-coated veneer ties provide an in-cavity thermal break that severs the thermal threads running throughout the cavity wall structure, reducing the U- and K-values of the anchoring system by thermally-isolating the metal components.
METHOD FOR MODE CONTROL IN MULTIMODE SEMICONDUCTOR WAVEGUIDE LASERS

One or more processors determine wear for a robotic device. The one or more processors divide a direction of travel of a robotic device into zones. Each zone has an associated counter that counts how many times the robotic device has entered a given zone. The one or more processors update a count for a zone in response to the robotic device entering that zone. The one or more processors determine a level of wear for a component associated with the robotic device. The level of wear is based, at least in part, on a total of counts for the zones.
METHOD OF MAKING A PROTON EXCHANGE MEMBRANE USING A GAS DIFFUSION ELECTRODE AS A SUBSTRATE
One embodiment includes a method comprising the steps of providing a first dry catalyst coated gas diffusion media layer, depositing a wet first proton exchange membrane layer over the first catalyst coated gas diffusion media layer to form a first proton exchange membrane layer; providing a second dry catalyst coated gas diffusion media layer; contacting the second dry catalyst coated gas diffusion media layer with the first proton exchange membrane layer; and hot pressing together the first and second dry catalyst coated gas diffusion media layers with the wet proton exchange membrane layer therebetween.
POWER-DOMAIN OPTIMIZATION
One example discloses an apparatus for power management, including: a circuit having a first power-domain and a second power-domain; wherein the first and second power-domains include a set of operating parameter values; a circuit controller configured to incrementally sweep at least one of the operating parameter values of the first power-domain; a circuit profiler configured to derive a total power consumption profile of the circuit based on the circuit's response to the swept operating parameter value; wherein the circuit controller sets the operating parameter values for the first and second power-domains based on the total power consumption profile of the circuit.
ONE-WAY CLUTCH
A one-way clutch is disclosed, which improves durability while reducing a drag torque and restraining burning of a block bearing. The one-way clutch includes: a torque transfer mechanism disposed between an outer race 2 and an inner race 3 so disposed in the outer race 2 as to be spaced inwardly in a diametrical direction, and hindering the outer race 2 and the inner race 3 from making a relative rotation in a predetermined direction; and block bearings 6 disposed between the outer race 2 and the inner race 3 together with the torque transfer mechanism, and keeping the outer race 2 and the inner race 3 in a concentric state, in which each block bearing has a slide surface 6f contiguous with an axis-directional surface of the outer race 2 or the inner race 3, and at least part of the slide surface 6f is a roughened surface.
ONE-WAY CLUTCH AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A one-way clutch is configured to allow rotation in one direction with respect to a shaft and regulate rotation in the other direction, and includes a housing, a plurality of needles, a plurality of magnets, a plurality of first accommodating portions, and a plurality of second accommodating portions. The housing includes a fitting hole into which the shaft is fit. The plurality of magnets are respectively arranged adjacent to the plurality of needles. Each magnet has an S pole and an N pole corresponding to a first end side and a second end side of one of the needles, and attracts one of the needles by magnetic force to a first circumferential direction of the shaft.
